Dear John,
We hope you will join us for a one-hour webinar on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 5:00 pm (eastern) for a timely and impactful conversation about the lawyers' role in degrading democracies and creating autocracies through actions that undermine institutions and practices. Our speaker is Scott L. Cummings, the Robert Henigson Professor of Legal Ethics at the UCLA School of Law and winner of a 2023 Guggenheim Fellow to study the role of lawyers in backsliding democracies. His recent article examines how lawyers have attacked the rule of law in America.
Professor Cummings will be interviewed by the extraordinary Boston Globe Senior Opinion Writer and Columnist, Kimberly Atkins Stohr. Attorney Stohr is also an on-air political analyst for MSNBC, frequent panelist on NBC's Meet the Press, and co-host of the legal news podcast, #SistersInLaw.
Registration information will be sent next week. In the meantime, please save the date and feel free to share this information with your networks.
Wishing you all a safe Labor Day weekend,
Lawyers Defending American Democracy
