### **Governor Newsom Can't Hide His Disappointment Over Losing Out to VP Harris**
Gavin Newsom, the embattled Democrat governor of California, couldn't even pretend to be thrilled during last month's Democratic National Convention, where fellow Bay Area native Kamala Harris stole the spotlight as Joe Biden's chosen successor. As the nation watched Harris bask in adoration, Newsom seemed stuck in perpetual disappointment mode – a feeling no doubt exacerbated by being relegated to minor appearances while the Veep hogged center-stage glory.
When invited to address attendees during primetime hours, our beleaguered leader opted instead to beg off due to some pressing matter involving getting kids settled into their first full week of back-to-school routine—a dubious excuse given how close O'Hare International lies to downtown Chi-Town proper!
Meanwhile, other big-name Cali politicos such as Congressman Adam Schiff—no slouch either in the clout department—declined offers, too, citing long-standing commitments elsewhere.
