Roy Robbins and his mother, Frances Hopton Robbins
This special bonus match challenge is possible thanks to Roy
Robbins, who generously pledged to match every gift we receive, up to
$40,000, to help fund local care and support and Alzheimer's research
- if we can raise that same amount by August 31. This pledge is
made in memory of his late mother, Frances Hopton Robbins, who passed
away from Alzheimer's disease in 1987.
For just three days, you can join Roy and honor someone in
your life who has been impacted by Alzheimer's or another dementia. We
are so grateful to Roy for his generosity and for stepping up in the
fight against Alzheimer's. Will you join him today with your first
gift to our 72-Hour Bonus Match Challenge that can have 2X the impact
on providing care and support while advancing critical Alzheimer's
research?

When it comes to defeating Alzheimer's, timing is everything.
This is particularly true for early detection and diagnosis. Research
suggests that many people living with dementia have never been
diagnosed. However, an early diagnosis can improve quality of care and
quality of life and may reduce the financial and emotional impact of
the disease.
For those who are worried that they or someone they love may
be living with Alzheimer's or another dementia, make sure to read our
10 early signs and symptoms.

Know the 10 Signs and Symptoms
of Alzheimer's and Dementia
1. Memory loss that disrupts daily life - such as
forgetting recently learned information, forgetting important
dates or events or increasingly needing to rely on memory
aids (e.g., reminder notes or electronic devices.)
2. Challenges in planning or solving problems - such as
difficulty following a plan or recipe, working with numbers
or keeping track of monthly bills.
3. Difficulty completing familiar tasks - such as driving
to a familiar location, organizing a grocery list or
remembering the rules of a favorite game.
4. Confusion with time or place - for instance, losing
track of dates, seasons and the passage of time, or
forgetting where you are or how you got there.
5. Trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships
- such as problems judging distance and determining
color or contrast.
6. New problems with words in speaking or writing - such
as difficulty following or joining a conversation, trouble
naming familiar objects or struggling with vocabulary.
7. Misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps
- for example, putting things away in unusual places,
being unable to find them again and accusing others of
stealing.
8. Decreased or poor judgment - such as making
uncharacteristic financial decisions or paying less attention
to personal grooming.
9. Withdrawal from work or social activities - such as
being unable to hold a conversation, avoiding social
engagements and withdrawing from friends and hobbies.
10. Changes in mood or personality - for instance, becoming
easily upset at home, at work, with friends or when out of
your comfort zone.
Together, we are fighting so that
everyone living with Alzheimer's has the care they need, as early as
possible. We're fighting to make sure every caregiver is supported and
that research leading to a cure is advancing every day. Time is of the
essence; will you take the next step today with your first gift that
can go 2X as far?
