More commitments progressed
This week New Zealand First has fulfilled more of our coalition promises.
We have confirmed the next stages for Phase 2 of the highly anticipated Covid Inquiry.
The terms of reference have now been finalised for the new inquiry, and work on this will commence from September.
We heard the concerns of New Zealanders about the scope of the original inquiry being too narrow. The expanded terms of reference will ensure that the inquiry is conducted across all relevant areas of the pandemic.
New Zealand First campaigned on this, and Kiwis can be assured of our ongoing commitment to this crucial process.
The Resource Management (Extended Duration of Coastal Permits for Marine Farms) Amendment Bill has been passed.
We are enabling marine farms to boost their productivity by cutting more of the bureaucratic red tape that has been strangling their progress.
This Bill extends all existing coastal permits for New Zealand’s 1200 marine farms by 20 years, unlocking more potential from the aquaculture industry to contribute to our exports.
This progress demonstrates our ongoing commitment to New Zealanders, to ensure we unleash more economic prosperity, and protect the strength of democracy in New Zealand.
