Dear Neighbor, I hope you are well! What felt like fall last week has quickly turned into a bit of a heatwave this week! Please make sure you and those around you stay cool and hydrated. With a new month on the horizon, Labor Day around the corner, and with most kids across the district back in the classrooms, I wanted to take this time to share what I’ve been up to, upcoming events from my office, and happenings in our townships across the 150th.
As always, I hope you find the information below informative and useful.
| | Office Closure
| | I want to remind everyone that my District Office will close at 12 p.m. (noon) on Friday, August 30th and remain closed all day on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day. We will open again at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3rd!
| | License Plate Restoration
| | NEXT THURSDAY! Do you have a license plate that is deteriorating? We can help with that! On Thursday, September 5th, I will be hosting a FREE License Plate Restoration event with Rep. Joe Ciresi and the Upper Providence Police Department at Anderson Farm Park from 10AM-1PM. By pre-registering, an application to replace your illegible plate will be filled out in your name, processed by us, and then signed by you and a police officer at the event. Bring your vehicle registration, license, and yourself! To pre-register, call my office at 484-200-8263 or submit your information through our Google Form. You will be notified when the restored plate is delivered to our office in a few weeks. We look forward to seeing you there!
| | Jeffersonville Golf Club
| | On Tuesday morning in West Norriton Township, I was proud to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for Jeffersonville Golf Club’s new clubhouse, alongside Representative Bradford, Senator Cappelletti, and West Norriton commissioners Roseanne Milazzo, Judith Eckles, Marty Miller, Peter Smock, and Anne Pavone (not pictured). The building houses a new banquet hall, restaurant, pro
shop, and simulator room. Funding through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, planning and execution from local and state leaders, and the grit from workers allowed this state-of-the-art facility to materialize. The whole community saw this as possible, and community-driven investments are important for the expansion of employment, education, and the enabling of residential partnerships.
| | Veterans Suicide Prevention Week
| | | In September we will recognize Veterans Suicide Prevention Week.
As of 2021, suicide was the 13th highest cause of death for Veterans overall, and the second-leading cause for Veterans under 45 years old. Throughout the week, we will hold events that recognize and spread awareness around Veteran suicide. The events include a proclamation, flag raising, documentary screening, and witting tree dedication. Please stay tuned for more information on dates and times!
I am also a proud co-sponsor of Rep. Jennifer O’Mara and Rep. Kerry Benninghoff’s House Resolution 519, Recognizing “National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month” and “World Suicide Prevention Day.”
| | One of the events we are holding during Veterans Suicide Prevention Week is a documentary screening of The Journey Home, a story of a group of Veterans, their community, and PTSD. The screening will be held in Olin Hall Auditorium at Ursinus College on Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 6:30 p.m. To reserve a seat, please call my office at 484-200-8263.
| | Flag Raising
| | Did you know there’s a monument at the core of Montgomery County? And that it’s located right in our neighboring Worcester Township? Last Friday, my team headed to the monument, which is located between S Valley Forge Road and Skippack Pike. It signifies the geographical center point of Montgomery County. Joined by Representative Steve Malagari and Leader Matt Bradford’s staff, we retired and raised a new American flag and county flag. Check it out if you’re driving by!
| | America 250
| | In preparation for the historical 250th anniversary of America on July 4, 2026, America250 plans to honor the countless historical milestones and contributions our country has to offer. As America250’s first state partner, Pennsylvania, under the title of America250PA, has a mission called E.P.I.C., which aims to educate, preserve, innovate and celebrate the rich
history of Pennsylvania. I want to highlight historical features and stories within each township in the 150th district that helped mold our beautiful state and country. If you know any historical locations or stories that should be featured, please reach out to my office at 484-200-8263 or email [email protected]. #PAProud
| | Upcoming Observances
| Labor Day – Sept. 2nd
| | On Monday, September 2nd, the nation will celebrate Labor Day. This holiday honors the achievements of workers throughout the country and acknowledges the efforts of the labor movement. We’re celebrating the people who help keep our communities safe, assist us in everyday needs, ensure our health, build our infrastructure, maintain our utilities, get us from point A to point B, answer our inquiries, take our orders, and many other industries that help our communities operate efficiently. We take a day out of our year to recognize these workers, but we should thank them every day for their unwavering contributions. Happy Labor Day!
