This historic move was made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act, a landmark piece of legislation that I fought tirelessly to pass. For too long, Big Pharma has kept life-saving medications out of reach for many Americans, forcing them to make impossible choices between their health and their financial security. With these new negotiated prices, we’re bringing real relief to millions of Medicare beneficiaries, reducing out-of-pocket costs by $1.5 billion and saving the Medicare program $6 billion overall.
