Hi,
In uncertain times like these, it is more important than ever that we unite as a community and take care of each other.
That’s why the Human Rights Campaign is launching HRC Gives Back, a new campaign for members like you who want to promote equality AND help the LGBTQ community stay healthy.
These are extraordinary times, and they call for an unprecedented response. HRC has created special cloth face masks — just in time for Pride — to protect you, your loved ones and our entire community. And for every mask purchased, we will give away two more to our long-standing nonprofit partner, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, which is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country.
Devereux partners with individuals, families, schools and communities, serving many of the most vulnerable members of our society. They are established leaders in LGBTQ-inclusive practice and many of their centers are recognized as innovators in HRC’s All Children-All Families annual benchmarking of child welfare agencies. HRC is proud, and hope you will be too, to send thousands of cloth masks to their staff.
HRC recently released a new report showing that the LGBTQ community is facing adverse economic impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our community is more likely to have had a cut in work hours, to work jobs in highly affected industries and less likely to have health coverage. And, in the midst of this pandemic, the Trump administration is still actively trying to revoke our rights.
In times of struggle, it is vital that we band together and show the real power of our community — which is why we felt compelled to do something more by launching HRC Gives Back.
Participating and wearing an HRC face mask is a way for all of us to pay it forward — and we hope you will participate by donating just $19 or more today. Pick out a face covering for yourself, and we’ll donate two navy blue cotton masks to organizations in need, including Devereux and other community-based organizations.
Now is the time for us to unite, like we have so many times before. Thank you for being such an incredible friend to HRC and to our LGBTQ family. We will get through this together.
With hope and gratitude,
