John -

As I write this email, activists in Uganda and Tanzania are being harassed
for protecting their homeland against the East African Crude Oil Pipeline
(EACOP).

More than a dozen people were harassed before the peaceful protests even
started. And yet, the true harm is being caused by the Global North
companies that are funding mega-pipelines in the Global South and hoping
we won't notice.

This is why we must stop EACOP now, John. Citibank already
committed to rejecting EACOP directly because of public pressure, but they
are still funding the oil giant that’s pushing the project ahead:
TotalEnergies. To bring EACOP to a complete stop, we need Citibank to
reject EACOP AND TotalEnergies once and for all. [ [link removed] ]Can you send a message

Citibank cares about their public reputation — that’s why they’ve stopped
voicing their support publicly. But Citibank is still funding fossil fuel
companies in the dark, including Total. With more and more activists being
intimidated and oppressed, Citibank is counting on the public to ignore
their connection to this dirty pipeline and the oppression happening on
the ground.

John, this is why we need your help to shine a light on this
crucial fight. The more people we can get to call out Citibank, the more
pressure they’ll feel to stop funding TotalEnergies and EACOP. We’ve
drafted the posts for you, all you have to do is click. [ [link removed] ]Can you stand
in solidarity with activists now and call on Citibank to stop funding
TotalEnergies, the company behind EACOP?

Thank you,
