There's nothing like August in the Ocean State.
The weather is perfect. The ocean is warm. And people are out and about enjoying the last bit of summer before the kids go back to school and things pick up again.
Other than spending a few days as part of Rhode Island's delegation to the Democratic National Convention, I've been knocking on doors and attending summer festivals, speaking to Rhode Islanders about what’s at stake in November and what President Harris and a Democratic Senate will do for the American people.
I love hearing from Rhode Islanders about what they want from their government and sharing what Democrats can do if we win the trifecta of the White House, the Senate, and the House. How we will grow the middle class. How we’re going to make billionaires pay their fair share. How we’re going to stop right-wing special interests from running the show at the Supreme Court and finally hold the justices to an enforceable code of ethics. How we’re going to tackle the climate crisis and leave a safer planet for future generations.
We have a lot of work to do, team. But everywhere I go, I hear from Rhode Islanders that they’re ready to win this thing and elect President Harris and keep the Senate blue.
