Howdy Comrade,

Mark your calendars for Friday, May 1 at 6:30pm for Houston DSA’s first annual May Day Trivia! We’ll be using Twitch to stream trivia questions and score updates. You can tune in to https://www.twitch.tv/HoustonDSA starting around 6:30pm, and trivia will begin at 7pm sharp. You don’t need an account to watch the stream, and you can watch in your web browser, using the Twitch mobile app, or the Twitch smart TV channel.

This is open to everyone, DSA member or not, Houston resident or not. Please reach out to someone interested in DSA and invite them!

Format

Trivia will consist of eight rounds of eight questions each, and will cover a variety of topics including U.S. politics, the rich history of labor and liberation movements around the world, pop culture, and more. Answers will be submitted via Google Forms. We’ll send out a link to the answer forms before the game starts, and we’ll post a link to each round’s form on the Twitch stream.

Working With a Team

Trivia is more fun with friends — and besides, what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one? — so organize a team with your comrades! During the game, you can talk with your team over a video-conferencing platform of your choice — Google Hangouts, Google Meet, Zoom, Skype, and FaceTime are all good options. Headphones may help!

To keep the game manageable and fair for all participants, please try to limit teams to six players. If none of your friends want to play, we can assign you to a team if you prefer!
