Hi John! I’m getting back into the groove of things after last week’s electric Democratic National Convention, and I wanted to share some excerpts from a Cal Matters article I just finished reading.
More below, but I’ll spoil the surprise: This article explains why it is so important that a President Kamala Harris has control of the U.S. House and why California is at the very *center* of that fight. If you’re already all-in to take back the House Majority will you pitch in $ now? [[link removed]]

[link removed] [[link removed]]“Presidents often are only as good as Congress allows them to be. That’s why California delegates at the Democratic National Convention here this week got the same message — again and again: Harris’ success as a president rests in their hands . While the vice president is all but guaranteed to win California, the state has as many as six competitive U.S. House seats that could shift control of the chamber to Democrats — which would help a Democratic president enact their agenda.” (emphasis added) [[link removed]]
This article makes it clear beyond doubt: California is key to Kamala Harris having a Democratic House Majority, so our efforts at mobilizing up and down the state couldn’t be more important.
But we have a real fear, John: Because donors and volunteers are often fixated on the traditional “swing states” for the national election, we might miss out on raising the money needed to flip key U.S. House districts here in California .
Right now polling has us surging in “tossup” and even “lean Republican” seats. But if we don’t raise another $15,000 before our critical End of Month deadline in 72 hours, we might have to stop scaling our programs. Will you pitch in now? [[link removed]]
