Team, I’m Bob’s finance director.
I’m responsible for making sure the campaign is on track to meet our fundraising goals. What does that mean? I track all donations coming in from emails, texts, and events. My first meeting every morning is with Bob to update him on our progress. I speak with him numerous times every day with financial updates.
At the beginning of the campaign, Bob decided not to accept donations from large corporations or corporate PACs. I was nervous that we couldn’t meet our fundraising goals without those donations.
But time and time again, our grassroots supporters stepped up. I get an email notification every time someone donates to the campaign and it’s exciting and motivating to see the flurry of donations when individuals chip in to help before a deadline.
This is the only campaign of this size that I’ve worked on that can raise millions without a dollar from large corporations or corporate PACs. This campaign is different because Bob is different. He is running for Governor to represent all Washingtonians and that’s what motivates him. That’s why he sets time aside to personally write thank-you notes to supporters, chat with kids at events, and travel to all 39 counties.
In order to raise the dollars we need to win it’s going to take big, sustained grassroots support. Right now, we’re short by $80,147 of our August end-of-month goal, and we need your help to turn that around.
Thank you for stepping up today,
Katherine
