Over the last few weeks we’ve been doing the work required to close down our campaign. Again, I want to thank you for your encouragement and support over the last year and a half.
I hope you feel we impacted the political ethers, and with half a million primary votes I think we did. Every one of those votes was from a voter who shared our vision for the future of the United States.
As of August 31, the Act Blue page will no longer be active. We have several hundred thousand dollars of campaign debt, and any contribution you feel like making toward debt relief will be greatly appreciated.
Now onwards and upwards! Many on the campaign trail asked me to commit that if they gave me their vote, I would support the Democratic candidate no matter who. And I will. I will be voting for Kamala Harris on November 5. I remain convinced that the policies promoted by Donald Trump would be deeply detrimental to our country and to our democracy. I ran for that very reason and my feelings have not changed.
I will continue to do everything I can to promote the policies and values that our campaign stood for. You provided me the opportunity of a lifetime, and for that there will always be gratitude in my heart.
