I’m proud to support my longtime friend, mentee, and colleague, Jennifer McClellan, in her re-election campaign for Congress in Virginia’s 4th District. Jenn is a compassionate and principled public servant who leads with her values and has earned a reputation as a strong legislative champion for Virginians.
I was proud to endorse Jenn for Congress in the 2023 special election for Virginia’s 4th District – a seat which she won with 74% of the vote – and I’m proud to endorse her again today. Will you split a donation of any amount between me and Jenn right now to power our campaigns through November?
I first met Jenn when I was serving as the Mayor of Richmond and she had just founded the Metro Richmond Area Young Democrats. I learned early on that she’s a hard worker who cares about the issues facing her community and uses her skills as a team-builder to get things done. Since then, I’ve been lucky to call Jenn a mentee, my hometown legislator, and a close friend – I even officiated Jenn’s wedding to her husband Dave!

Before being elected to Congress, Jenn served with passion and distinction in the Virginia legislature for nearly 18 years. She led efforts on landmark laws addressing the issues we care about most – voting rights, abortion access and health care, climate change, public education, workers' rights, and the criminal justice system. Throughout her career, Jenn has been firm in her convictions, and her commitment to achieving progress, equity, and justice has been unmatched. She’s been an effective and thoughtful leader for the people of Virginia’s 4th District, and I’m proud to support her re-election campaign.
