"Charmaine McGuffey Demolishes Jim Neil"
I wanted to share this amazing headline from Cincinnati Public Radio with you, John. Take a look:

We haven't seen a lot of good headlines lately, but this is one to savor. Not only is Charmaine the first woman to hold this office, but she's also the first openly LGBTQ person to hold it! During our WINNING 2020 conversation, Charmaine told a story about how she and a group of friends were targeted by officers as they left an LGBTQ club one night. We talked about how she ran because her supervisor - the man she just defeated - ran a department where harassment of staff and inmates was the accepted norm. He even fired Charmaine for speaking out against his practices.

I'll rest better knowing that Charmaine - who ran to right the many wrongs committed by her predecessor - is leading this department and prioritizing LGBTQ rights. And I'm incredibly proud to report that thanks to you, we raised $5,600 for Charmaine's race and secured three national press profiles.

When we stand together, we can do great work - and it pays off for our candidates on Election Day. This community stepped up for Charmaine, and I'm so proud to know you'll be standing with us in this fight. If you can chip in once again to help more LGBTQ candidates like Charmaine, it's really appreciated.

Take a moment to celebrate this enormous victory. I hope I can share more good news soon.

Thank you again -

Sean Meloy

LGBTQ Victory Fund has helped thousands of openly LGBTQ candidates win elections up and down the ballot, from sea to shining sea since our founding in 1991. We believe representation is power – so we elected U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Kyrsten Sinema, Governors Jared Polis and Kate Brown, all seven LGBTQ members of U.S. Congress and countless candidates for state and local government, including Virginia Delegate Danica Roem, Colorado state Representative Leslie Herod and Pennsylvania Assemblymember Brian Sims. And with an unprecedented number of LGBTQ people running for office in this year, we’ll need your support to make 2020 the next Rainbow Wave.
