Common Sense or Extremism, People or Profits

We've got a choice

As a Marine combat veteran, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when freedoms are threatened. Today, I’m running for Congress because those same freedoms are at risk right here at home. In this election, the stakes couldn’t be higher—not just for North Dakota but for the entire country.

Trygve Hammer addressing voters

My opponent, Julie Fedorchak, has taken positions that should alarm anyone who cares about fundamental rights. She’s anti-abortion, pushing for extreme measures like a federal abortion ban that would strip women of the right to make decisions about their own bodies. She’s on board with rolling back rights for LGBTQ+ Americans and eliminating families’ access to IVF treatments. And let’s not forget her alignment with Donald Trump, embracing an agenda that’s out of step with the values we hold dear. This is not a disagreement between political parties but a struggle for a free America.

It doesn’t stop there. As a public official, Julie has privately profited from deals that have harmed North Dakotans—like the Summit Carbon Solutions Pipeline, which has led to the seizure of private property for corporate gain. We’ve seen too much of this—politicians using public power to fill their private pockets while we’re left to bear the cost. My parents taught me to judge people by their actions, not their words, and Julie’s actions show a pattern of putting profit over people. This isn’t leadership—it’s opportunism and there’s already way too much of it in Washington.

Fund the Message, Win the Fight

Here’s the good news: this race is much closer than anyone expected. Recent polling shows that we’re within striking distance. I’m outpacing party affiliation by six points, and that’s before we’ve even started our major communications. We’re talking about a race where 11% of voters are undecided. That’s a lot of persuadable folks who need to hear our message loud and clear. With the right kind of support, we can get our message out and flip this seat.

Why does this matter? Because it’s not just about me or Julie. It’s about the direction our country is heading. It’s about protecting Social Security, Medicare, and the middle-class dream. It’s about ensuring that every American, no matter who they are, where they come from, or who they love—can live in a nation that respects their rights. A sensible House of Representatives filled with those who respect both the Constitution and the American people can stop the rollback of rights that Julie and her allies are hell-bent on pushing through. To defend our freedoms we must replace the culture-war bomb throwers with pragmatic problem solvers.

Right now, we have a real shot to make a difference. I’m outperforming party lines in North Dakota, and the race is close enough that with your help, we can win. But to do that, we need the resources to get our message out. We need to define Julie Fedorchak for what she truly is: a politician who prioritizes profit over people and extreme ideology over common sense.

Help Defeat Extremists - Support Trygve

We need leaders who understand that their job is to serve, not to exploit, to protect, not to profit.

This isn’t just about one seat in Congress. It’s about sending a message that the American people won’t stand by while their rights are eroded. It’s about demanding integrity, honor, courage, and commitment from our leaders. These aren’t just words—they’re the values I learned from my family, the values I carried into the Marine Corps, and the values I’ll bring with me to Washington.

I’m asking for your support because this is a fight for our future. If you believe in the importance of protecting our rights and freedoms, I urge you to stand with me. While it’s my least favorite part of the job, I should mention we’re coming up on a critical fundraising deadline, and every contribution counts.

Together, we can elect leaders who will ensure our government works for everyone, not just the privileged few. Let’s make sure that power is wielded for all of us.

Thank you for your support and belief in the America we all deserve.

P.S. Today’s post had more of a “campaign mechanics” focus than usual. My goal has always been to lead with sincerity, offering genuine insights rather than just jumping on the bandwagon of urgent appeals. But every now and then, we’ve got to get down to brass tacks. Next post we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming. Thanks for your engagement. — Trygve
