Hi John,

Just like all of you, I’m looking forward to leaving my house, maybe having a night on the town, and going back to work. It’s easy to get lost in the day-to-day routine when things aren’t changing much, but let’s not forget -- there is a future to look forward to. With a smart focus and hard work, I know we can come out of this stronger, more unified, and more inspired to tackle the big challenges facing our country.

That’s what this campaign is all about -- working together to build a better future. So, let’s talk about the future and what is possible for the South Sound and the country.

First, let’s talk local. We need to save Puget Sound. As Congressman Denny Heck’s top staffer in Washington, I helped found the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus and helped secure $25 million in restoration funds to save our orcas and salmon runs. Only humans can save the Puget Sound, and we need to do more. In Congress, I will.

The same goes for solving the climate crisis. We just saw across the world what’s possible when people are facing an immensely complex, global problem. We listen to science, and we collectively do what needs to be done. We should apply this same sense of urgency to climate change. In Congress, I will.

And if the past couple months have shown us anything, it’s that the health of every individual is inseparable from the greater good. We need to fight for expanded access to quality, affordable health care so every individual is covered. In Congress, I absolutely will.

Bold ideas and big goals -- that’s the foundation of this campaign.

As we bring April to a close and we work to hit our end-of-month grassroots fundraising benchmarks, I hope I can count on you. We’ve got today and tomorrow to hit our goal of $5,786 -- can you chip in $25, $50, or whatever is possible right now? https://secure.actblue.com/donate/gardnerforcongress

Thank you so much -- I couldn’t do any of this without your support.

-Phil
