Getting Ahead

This summer, five CMCA members completed twelve weeks of Building Strong Families, CAREERS, FOC, and Getting Ahead classes. Through these classes, participants set goals, used effective communication, created resumes, participated in mock interviews, created a budget, and learned about resources in their communities to help better themselves. We had multiple programs come together to provide comprehensive support through these 12 weeks of classes and coaching. 

One participant noted the impact of these classes, saying, "Maybe I can do more. I've never lived further than poverty, so it's a big obstacle for me. At least in the future, I'll be able to combat that."

Foster Grandparents

As the new school year begins across our service area, we took the opportunity to reflect on how many amazing foster grandparent volunteers we have. Last school year, 53 foster grandparents volunteers served 47,608 volunteer hours mentoring or supporting 590 students. This is truly outstanding! 

Agency Picnic 

On Friday, August 9, we paused to  celebrate our amazing staff! We ate delicious food, played volleyball, danced, and celebrated all of their hard work. We recognized service anniversaries, including 10 staff members who were celebrating 15 or 20 years at CMCA! We are so proud of their commitment to serving others.
