Yes, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) recognized extremist group Moms for Liberty — or as we call them, Moms Against Liberty— is coming to Washington, DC, over Labor Day weekend for their 2024 convention. They will be partnering with the right-wing Heritage Foundation for a “kids march” at the Mall to amplify their hateful message around book bans and Project 2025. 😠😠😠

But here’s the great news! Moms, families, and caregivers will be drowning them out with our own huge, joyous, inclusive event: A Celebration of Reading, with authors, musical performances, and drag readings! ❤️🎉

Can you join us? The more people who join our celebration, the louder our voice to drown out the toxic Moms for Liberty! RSVP now.

Every child and every family deserves to be seen, heard, and included in our schools. They deserve to see themselves in the books they read, and also to learn with and from people who are different from them, and to grow and thrive in our multiracial democracy.

We’re coming together to say that we are with every child — and we know that the overwhelming majority of people in this country want to work together towards a brighter and more inclusive future.

We’re sending a message to organized censorship groups like Moms for Liberty that they’re not welcome here, that we reject their agenda, and that we are determined to fight together for the future all children deserve!
