States are not just staying in the running, but picking up the pace for zero emissions: [link removed]
***********************************************************
Dear Friend,
We all deserve to breathe clean air and there’s a new state rule that can help make a big difference – but EPA must approve it first. Communities living near ports, freeways, and mega-warehouses tend to breathe some of the dirtiest air in the United States. One way to fix that is to speed the shift from diesel trucks – the largest source of lung-searing NOx (nitrogen oxides) – to zero-emissions trucks. We need your help to see this rule put into action and adopted around the country. Send a letter to the EPA today. [link removed]
California finalized a strong rule to make this big shift for our lungs, but EPA must approve it before other states can adopt it around the country. This rule is effective for two reasons – it tackles both the demand and the supply of zero emissions trucks. The rule drives demand by requiring large fleets to gradually shift their fleets to zero emissions based on trucks’ suitability for electrification. ACF also tackles supply by requiring all new truck sales be 100% zero emissions by 2036.
Communities fighting for their families and neighbors led the charge for an ambitious trucks rule in California, and the benefits of this common-sense policy can ripple across the U.S. – especially in communities near ports, freeways, railyards, and warehouses where trucks cluster. Add your voice and urge EPA to approve this rule today. [link removed]
Sincerely,
Paul Cort
