John,
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, you have seen the tragic reports from leaders in immigrant communities and communities of color. We are all mourning the horrific loss of life and livelihoods and grappling with an uncertain future.
But in the midst of so much heartache, there have also been unbelievable acts of service from New Americans, immigrants, people of color, and allies. Our NALpista elected officials and alumni have been tireless advocates working to get resources to frontline workers, fight anti-Asian hate, advocate for those in ICE detention centers, and secure funding to help people like us rebuild.
Their leadership is why we are reaching out today to ask for your support of New American Leaders on #GivingTuesdayNow. [[link removed]]
This pandemic has laid bare the myth that everyone gets a fair shot in America. We know that if you want to live in a country where all Americans are protected and included, we need your help to elect a new kind of leader—inclusive leaders who fight for us, not against us. But if you want more people like them working on your behalf, we need you to support New American Leaders next Tuesday, May 5th for #GivingTuesdayNow by donating [[link removed]] or joining our NALpista #GivingTuesdayNow happy hour. [[link removed]]
Your support will help us develop new online trainings, continue remote coaching and outreach, and support New American elected leaders as they create policies that keep all of us safe and healthy. It’s an opportunity to come together, recognize acts of generosity, and help our communities heal.
With your help, we can make sure that #PeopleLikeUs provide the creativity, compassion, and solutions to navigate us out of this pandemic.
Thank you for your support,
Jessica Lee
