Remember: Kamala Harris Bragged About Her Role in the Afghanistan Withdrawal
Fox News: Many conservatives have marked the third anniversary of the deadly Abbey Gate bombing that killed 13 Americans during the Biden administration’s Afghanistan withdrawal by unearthing poorly aged comments by Vice President Kamala Harris… Roughly four months before the tragic terror attack, Harris talked about her role during a CNN interview in which she confirmed she was the last person in the room before Biden made the deadly decision to pull U.S. troops out of Afghanistan ( Fox News). Trump’s Senior Advisor Jason Miller: Kamala Harris was the last person in the room when the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan was ordered, leading to 13 American service members being killed. Sen. Tom Cotton to ABC: “How Do You Know What Kamala's Positions Are?”
Daily Wire: Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) skewered ABC News host Jonathan Karl during an interview on Sunday over false remarks that he made about Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris’ policy positions. The remarks on the network’s “This Week” happened when Cotton correctly pointed out the numerous ways that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is different from Harris, who has supported “decriminalizing illegal immigration or giving taxpayer-funded health insurance to illegal aliens or taking away health insurance on the job for 170 million Americans, banning gas cars, confiscating firearms” ( Daily Wire). Reporter Brent Baker: This Week, Jon Karl unaware of Harris’s stance against private health insurance. When Sen. Tom Cotton notes it, Karl: “What do you mean taking away health insurance? What are talking about?” Then: “That is not her position now….clearly making an effort to move to the middle” ( X).

Kamala Harris’ Recent Border Ad Even Draws Criticism From Legacy Media
Katie Pavlich: During the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last week, the Democratic Party did their best to rebrand Vice President Kamala Harris as a “tough on the border” prosecutor who took on drug cartels and illegal immigration. That of course isn’t true and as President Joe Biden’s Border Czar, Harris has overseen the largest influx of illegal immigration in United States history. She’s visited the U.S.-southern border with Mexico one time and just for a few hours… Team Harris is shamelessly lying about her record in a new television advertisement. The details are so phony, even her usual allies in the media are calling her out ( Townhall). Matt Whitlock: Brutal ABC clip on Kamala using Trump border wall images in campaign ads after working against it: KARL: There are at least 3 points in that ad that show the border wall – Donald Trump’s border wall. Is it now the position of Democrats that they favored the border wall” ( X). Francis Brennan: Kamala Harris said it was “outrageous and a stain on our national character” when the Trump Admin was accused of not being able to account for 545 illegal immigrant children. As border czar Harris has lost OVER 290,000 illegal immigrant children ( X).

Special Counsel Jack Smith Appeals Decision to Dismiss Trump’s Classified Documents Case
Townhall: Last month, Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed Special Counsel Jack Smith’s case against former and potentially future President Donald Trump for his handling of classified documents. On Monday afternoon, Smith appealed the decision to the 11th Circuit, claiming that she “erred” in her move to toss out the case. Cannon came to such a decision “based on the unlawful appointment and funding of Special Counsel Jack Smith.” She also said that Smith’s appointment by Attorney General Merrick Garland “violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution” and found that Smith’s “use of a permanent indefinite appropriation also violates the Appointments Clause” ( Townhall). Law Reporter Anna Bower: Special Counsel Jack Smith has filed his opening brief at the 11th Circuit, arguing that the appeals court should reverse Judge Aileen Cannon’s order dismissing Trump’s charges in the classified documents case ( X).

Canada to Impose a 100 Percent Tariff on Chinese EVs
Associated Press: Canada’s government on Monday announced it is imposing a 100% tariff on imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles that matches U.S. tariffs and follows similar plans announced by the European Commission. The announcement came after encouragement by U.S. national security advisor Jake Sullivan during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and cabinet ministers on Sunday. Sullivan is making his first visit to Beijing on Tuesday. Trudeau said Canada also will impose a 25% tariff on Chinese steel and aluminum ( Associated Press). ABC: Chinese firms can sell EVs for as little as $12,000. China’s solar cell plants and steel and aluminum mills have enough capacity to meet much of the world’s demand. Chinese officials argue their production keeps prices low and would aid a transition to the green economy ( ABC).

Massachusetts Redirects School Bus Routes to Prioritize Children of Asylum Seekers Leaving Students With No Way of Getting to School
Daily Mail: Parents in a Boston exurb have reacted angrily to revelations that schools are axing buses for local children — but keeping them running for the kids of migrants and asylum seekers. Some 150 students at Stoughton Public Schools are scrambling to find ways to get to school from September 4, after the district cut services due to a lack of funding. Controversially, the hundreds of migrant and asylum seeker families living in the town of Stoughton will still get school-buses, thanks to funding from the state. The scrapping of buses for local kids comes amid fears that Massachusetts is going broke and will lose $1.8 billion over the next two years due to migrant costs. Boston radio host Jeff Kuhner said the Democrat-run state was ‘prioritizing illegals over citizens’ and that the busing change amounted to ‘treason’ ( Daily Mail). Fox News: There is no requirement in the state of Massachusetts to provide transportation for students in grades 7-12, but the district is required to provide busing to students living in hotels and shelters ( Fox News).

Lawsuit Claims California School District Attempted to Hide Anti-Semitic Practices
National Review: Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) officials and hired consultants conspired to keep Jewish community members in the dark about ethnic-studies courses on the grounds that, as Jews, they are inherently racist and would disrupt plans to enlighten the student body, according to a new filing in an ongoing lawsuit. The American Jewish Committee (AJC), the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the Brandeis Center, and the law firm Covington & Burling sued SAUSD in September 2023 over alleged violations of the state’s open-meeting laws. The organizations charged the district with intentionally skirting California policy to push a curriculum that casts Jews as oppressors. Information brought to light during legal proceedings suggests those behind the ethnic-studies curriculum promoted anti-Jewish rhetoric and conspiracy theories ( National Review). Joel Petlin: The Santa Ana (Calif) school district tried to hold meetings on Jewish holidays in order to keep Jews from participating, and they called Jews “oppressors” with “colonized Jewish minds.” I’m old enough to remember when Antisemites were less obvious about their Antisemitism ( X).

New Poll: Donald Trump Has Doubled His Support Among Black Voters
Newsweek: A Morning Consult survey of 11,501 registered voters conducted between August 15 and August 18, 2024, found that Trump has garnered significantly more backing from Black voters compared to his 2020 run. The 2024 poll shows 21 percent of Black voters supporting Trump, a 12-percentage point increase from a 2020 Morning Consult poll. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage point. Trump’s increase in support among Black voters contrasts with the poll’s findings for Democratic candidates. In 2020, then-candidate Joe Biden received 81 percent support, according to the poll. The Pew Research Center found that Black voters overwhelmingly supported Biden in the 2020 election, with 92 percent backing his candidacy ( Newsweek).
