Earlier today, we emailed you a story titled "Capitol Police interacted with suspect during Jan. 5 pipe-bomb drop, video shows." It was based on our careful analysis of previously unreleased security camera footage of the alleyway beside the Republican National Committee, where a bomb was allegedly placed the evening of Jan. 5, 2021. In the story, we reported that someone dressed similarly to the suspected bomber had emerged from the alley during a similar timeframe and appeared to have interacted with Capitol Police vehicles at the end of the alley.
After publication, a congressional investigator with access to video that has not been released to the public or reviewed by Blaze Media reached out to our reporters and pointed out that while they had suspected the same individual, this unreleased footage shows the person who exits the alley and walks toward the police cars was dressed similarly — but differently — and is not the same person as the suspected bomber. We quickly updated our reporting to reflect this new information and will continue to push for the release of further video showing what transpired in and around the alley that night.
We're emailing you now because we take your trust seriously. We are nothing without it. We made our observations with the material we'd uncovered, corrected them when new material came to light, and will continue to work to uncover that video the federal government is keeping from you. Federal authorities are not giving us the full picture of what happened around the RNC and DNC pipe bombs. We won't stop fighting.
