Greetings Union volunteers,

Voter turnout will be crucial for victory this November. Many Union members are sitting on a GOTV gold mine: your college-bound children. Young people overwhelmingly support pro-democracy values, but they are also among the least likely to make it to the polls. Although recent political events have reignited their passion, we must ensure that this enthusiasm translates into action. That's where you come in. A little gentle encouragement from you could be just what they need to make sure they vote on November 5th.

The first step is to make sure they are registered to vote. https://www.voteamerica.org/ provides one stop shopping–they can check their registration status, register, and change their address to their schooling location.

Of particular significance, over 500,000 students who go to school in existential swing states (Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylavia, Georgia and Arizona) are currently registered to vote in their less competitive home states. Given the thin margins that will decide these 5 states, those students could truly make the difference in America’s future.

If your children are of the activist stripe we love here at the Union, they can connect with registration efforts on their campus at https://campusvoteproject.org/. It can also be a great resource for any questions regarding campus registration.

But don’t stop there! Make sure their friends and your friend’s kids are registered, too.  Let’s build a movement here!

We'll follow up once voting begins with details on polling locations, hours, and required IDs. That way, you can pass along this information, along with some gentle reminders and encouragement, to ensure they cast their vote.

Together, we can keep the momentum building!
