Houston Celebrates Big Wins at Texas Young Republican Convention!

This past weekend, the Houston Young Republicans made a significant impact at the 2024 Texas Young Republican Federation (TYRF) Convention, bringing home multiple prestigious awards that highlight the hard work and dedication of our team.
We're incredibly proud to have been named Large Club of the Year—a testament to the strength and growth of our organization. This award reflects the passion, commitment, and unity of our members, all of whom have played a vital role in making HYR a leading force in Texas.
In addition to this top honor, we were also recognized with the Outstanding Social Media award. Our dynamic online presence has been key to engaging our community, sharing important content, and fostering a strong conservative network across Houston and beyond.
And we’re thrilled to celebrate our Communications Director, Sam Somogye, who was awarded Event Fundraiser of the Year for his outstanding work organizing our event with the Consul General of Israel. This event was not only a financial success but also provided a unique opportunity for dialogue and connection within our community.
These awards are a collective achievement, and we couldn’t have done it without the support and dedication of each of you. As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue building on this momentum and making a difference in the upcoming election season.

Save the Date: Volunteer with HYR and Feeding the Lone Star
We’re excited to announce a meaningful opportunity to give back to our community! Join the Houston Young Republicans for a volunteer event with Feeding the Lone Star, a dynamic and rapidly growing non-profit dedicated to providing nutritious meals to the homeless and those experiencing food insecurity in the Greater Houston area.

Date: Sunday, September 8
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: 11000 Fondren Rd, Houston, TX 77096
Event Schedule:
Introduction and Refreshments (20 minutes):
* Welcome and introduction to Feeding Lone Star’s mission.
* Light refreshments and a chance to socialize with fellow volunteers.
Food Preparation and Packaging (1 hour):
* Roll up your sleeves and help prepare and package meals.
* These meals will be distributed to those in need across Greater Houston.
* We’ll wrap up with a group picture to commemorate the event.
Total Duration: 1.5 hours

Presidential Debate Watch Party

We’re excited to partner again with the Harris County GOP to host another watch party! Join us at Christian’s Tailgate on White Oak to watch President Trump take on Kamala Harris in what promises to be a lively debate. We’ll have appetizers, games, and prizes just like at our last watch party, so RSVP and don’t miss out!
