Happy Women's Equality Day, team!
Today I hope you'll join me in reflecting on the progress we’ve made since the ratification of the 19th Amendment which protects women’s right to vote as well as the work that still lies ahead.
While we honor the strides women have taken, we know our fight for true equality is far from over. The battle for women’s reproductive freedom, economic equity, and social justice continues, and it's a fight that affects us all.
Over the last few years, and especially since the fall of Roe v. Wade, it’s become clear just how much is at stake in this election. The right to essential reproductive health care is on the line this November, and it’s up to us to ensure that the voices of a radical few don’t drown out the majority of Americans who believe women should have the right to make their own health care decisions.
Team, let me be clear: The struggle for equality is not just a women’s issue – it's a human rights issue. We cannot and will not allow a small group of extremists to drag us backward and deny women the freedoms and equality they deserve. We must continue to push forward for equality so that all of us can be truly free. That means breaking down barriers, defending access to reproductive freedom, and ensuring that every person is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their gender.
On this Women’s Equality Day – and every day – I hope you'll join me in recommitting to the fight for gender equality and freedom.
In solidarity,
Chris
