Earlier this month, The Sentencing Project hosted an important webinar on influencing the Congressional response to COVID-19 in prison. One critical take away was the immediate need for the public to urge their lawmakers to allocate resources to reduce the spread of the virus in prisons and jails, and to support initiatives to release vulnerable people from incarceration.

Take action now and tell your lawmakers to support legislation in the upcoming COVID-19 response package to limit the spread of infection and protect the lives of vulnerable people behind bars.

The Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Justice has established an online hotline to receive complaints regarding the Bureau of Prisons’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have a family member or loved one incarcerated at a federal correctional institution, please raise any concerns through this form.
