We all know that Bidenomics is making life more expensive, but the
heartbreaking consequences are often overlooked—especially when it comes to our
furry family members.
A colleague was just sharing pictures with me of her dog, Holden. It reminded
me of some recent statistics we calculated that reveal the devastating impact
our struggling economy is having on our pets.
Across the country, more and more pet owners are being forced to make a
gut-wrenching decision: surrender their beloved dogs, cats, and other pets
because they can no longer afford the skyrocketing costs of food, shelter, and
veterinary care.
The numbers speak for themselves:
* Prices for pets, pet products, and services have surged by 25.8% over the
past five years—outpacing even the general rate of inflation.
* Veterinary services have seen an even more staggering increase, with costs
rising by 38.6%.
These increases are devastating for families who are already struggling to
make ends meet.
