John,
Our extremist, far-right Supreme Court is dangerous. It’s also one of the
most corrupt institutions across all branches of government.
For years, Supreme Court justices have accepted — and then failed to
disclose — massive gifts from parties with interests before the court.
This is corruption. But today, thanks to loopholes in the Court’s code of
ethics, it’s perfectly legal.
Justice Democrats Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has introduced a bill to
change that. The High Court Gift Ban Act would put an end to legalized
bribery by creating and enforcing strict ethical standards for our highest
court.

The Supreme Court holds an enormous amount of unchecked power over our
lives. Between the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the creation of
“presidential immunity” for Donald Trump, and the dozens of other
disastrous decisions made by the current bench, it is clear that they
aren’t afraid to wield it.
As we have come to learn the full extent of the Court’s bribery problem,
members of the Squad have been some of the most outspoken advocates for
Supreme Court reform. Now, AOC’s bill will finally put an end to the
egregious, plain-as-day corruption that has plagued the Court for years.

need a groundswell of public pressure. So
John, will you tell Congress to pass the High
Court Gift Ban Act today? →
