The Care Can't Wait Bus Tour Kicks Off Today!

Today marks the start of our Care Can't Wait Bus Tour [[link removed]] ! We're hitting the road to amplify the importance of care and inspire action across the country. The tour kicks off in Chicago, and we’ll be traveling through diverse communities, pushing for the care policies we all need.

Care is the backbone of our communities, supporting families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities. Yet, the care workforce remains underpaid and undervalued. This tour is our chance to shine a spotlight on the critical need for better care policies and to ensure that the voices of care workers and caregivers are heard loud and clear. Let’s Get Vote Ready

As we approach the November elections, it's time to ensure that our voices are ready to be heard loud and clear. Voting isn’t the only tool we have for change, but it is one of the most powerful. And, it begins with making sure you're registered and ready to vote [[link removed]].

Even if you think you're registered, there are important reasons to double-check your status:

* Moved Recently? Your registration needs to reflect your current address.

* Changed Your Name? In some states it’s important to make sure your registration matches your current ID.

* New Voter? If you've recently turned 18, it's your time to make a difference!

It’s quick and easy to verify your voter registration: just visit our Voter Hub [[link removed]]!

Once you're sure your voter registration is set, encourage others to check their registration. Know someone who’s recently turned 18 or moved? Reach out to them and encourage them to check their voter registration status [[link removed]].

It’s easy to find out if your employer participates. Use our new tool on our website to check if your company offers a matching gift program [[link removed]]

This Month in Domestic Worker History

In 1933, Mexican American domestic workers in El Paso, Texas, formed the Asociación de Trabajadoras Domésticas and mobilized over 700 workers to strike [[link removed]] for better wages and working conditions, as federal labor laws did not protect them. Despite facing extreme exploitation, wage disparity, and opposition from employers and local government, their strike gained support from local labor unions and forced some employers to increase wages. However, efforts to regulate labor and address cross-border wage issues were less successful, and the workers' struggle highlighted the deep challenges they faced in seeking fair treatment.
