After the enormous success from our last Job Fair where hundreds of job seekers were able to meet more than 50 employers in the public and private sectors, my office organized another to help bring the American Dream in reach to more members of our community than ever. DETAILS BELOW On Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 10am to 1pm at Miami Dade College's PadrĂłn Campus, my office is once again throwing a Job Fair for you to meet potential employers in South Florida. More than 50 employers from across the public and private sector will be there to answer your questions about potential employment. Parking is free! The United States House of Representatives founded the Congressional App Challenge (CAC) to encourage students to learn coding and innovation techniques. The CAC inspires students to learn how to code through a district-wide competition for the chance to be recognized on the national level for excellence in the field of computer science. ELIGIBILITY: Students must either be in middle school or high school by the time the competition ends on October 24, 2024. Students can participate in up to teams of four. At least 50% of the team must either live or go to school in Florida’s 27th District in order to qualify. For solo applicants, the student must either live or go to school in Florida’s 27th District. Students have until OCTOBER 24, 2024, to submit their apps.  Apps can be coded on any platform, using any programming language, on any topic. Only 1 entry per year. HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Register on the Congressional App Challenge website. Design and create your app. Submit your app before OCTOBER 24, 2024. The winner will be announced by December 9, 2023, and will be honored at #HouseofCode, have their App displayed in Capitol for one year, and have the chance to receive additional prizes.
