Hi there,
Becoming a professional athlete is hard. Take it from us.
We’re Gaby Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe, reigning US Open Doubles Champions and tennis partners. And here’s why we’re pledging 2% of our August tournament winnings to The Humane League.
Researchers say it takes 10,000 hours of dedicated practice to become an expert at something. As professional athletes, we know firsthand just how much time that is. The long days. The sweat and exhaustion. The drills, the discipline, the dedication.
Unable to spread her wings or lift her head—barely able to move. Wire bars digging into her sensitive feet. Other animals all around her, frantically jostling for space. Her whole body aching. Her personality crushed.
Let’s put it this way. In the amount of time one hen spends in this misery, you too could become an expert at tennis.
As we approach World Farm Animals Day, we’re partnering with The Humane League, one of the world’s highest-impact animal protection charities, to help eliminate cruel battery cages from the face of the planet. Because no animal deserves to spend 10,000 hours in fear and pain.
At High Impact Athletes, we go through a rigorous vetting process to determine which charities can do the greatest amount of good with every donation. The Humane League is one of the most effective charities we’ve found, dollar for dollar, to end the systemic abuse of farmed animals.
Thank you. We know that together, anything is possible—and together, we can win this fight for animals.
