Friends and Comrades - Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our general meeting yesterday. We had good discussion, informative updates, passed an important resolution(see below!) and elected 4 At-Large Organizers to serve on our Organizing Committee. Congratulations to Dylan, Anais, Shaan, and Greg! We are excited for your ideas and leadership.

Housing is a massive issue in Santa Fe. Unhoused people are facing increased state violence. Families spend unreasonable percentages of their monthly income on rent, paid to exploitive landlords. This is why the formation of a Housing Working Group, passed yesterday at our General Meeting, is so important.?
?
We want to approach housing from multiple angles: Tenant unions, mutual aid for the unhoused, fighting source of income discrimination on a state level, coalition building. And we would love for you to join us in this work!
?
If you are a member in good standing and are interested in joining our Housing Working Group, please email us at [email protected]. We look forward to working with you :)

Fight Anti-Trans Hate Coming to Santa Fe!
|
Far-right MAGA organizations, including Moms for Liberty and the New Mexico Freedoms Alliance, are hosting an anti-trans detransitioners panel on September 12, at La Fonda on the Plaza. Events like this one promote junk science and enable further hate and violence against our trans siblings.
?
We're asking members to contact La Fonda and the President of the La Fonda Foundation Board to tell them that hatred for trans folks has no place in Santa Fe! If you want to lend your voice to this effort, please see this Google Doc for ways to contact La Fonda to apply pressure on them!

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
