It’s getting hot out there. The partisan frenzy of the approaching
elections is turning up the heat on our democracy, even as new record high
temperatures offer a terrifying preview of climate chaos. It’s never been
more important to center common ground and prioritize progress over
polarization. That can mean putting the public safety conversation back on
public health, finding common sense ways to speed up the response to
climate change without leaving out valued voices, or spurring the green
jobs economy. Scroll down to find out what Dream.Org is doing – and how
you can help.

In solidarity,
— Nisha Anand

You can help change the conversation around the “War on Drugs” and lift up
the stories of those lost to overdose! On Thursday, August 29th, Dream.Org
will officially launch our Public Health is Public Safety campaign where
we prioritize advocating for compassionate drug reform and harm reduction.
The event will begin with a vigil in remembrance of loved ones lost as we
prepare to observe Overdose Awareness Day. Following the vigil, we will
hear from a diverse group of individuals impacted by the drug war. We will
also unveil the campaign’s goals and initiatives, highlighting our
strategies for compassionate drug reform and harm reduction. This is more
than just a launch—it’s a movement to save lives and promote public health
as a core component of public safety. [ [link removed] ]Join us in making a difference.

A decade or longer. Believe it or not, that’s how long it can take a
company to secure the necessary permits to begin construction on clean
energy projects. We cannot combat climate change if approvals take that
long – or if we try so hard to speed them up that we leave out public
feedback and leave people behind. The answer? Let's do both — streamline
the permitting process while involving local voices early on! Urge
Congress to amend the Energy Permitting Reform Act and support a strong
bill that benefits our climate and communities.
