Big Porn seems willing to bet the U.S. Department of Justice won’t do anything.
And I’m increasingly worried that they may be right.
In December, four U.S. Representatives sent a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr and asked him to use obscenity laws on the books to rein in Big Porn.
Big Porn refuses to implement age verification checks on their websites ... and, as a result, their online pornography is just a few clicks away for any child online. Tragically, research shows that isn’t a hypothetical concern. One study found that the average age when children encounter online pornography for the first time is just 11.
Even Attorney General Barr has agreed that kids have easy access to pornography online! But he and the Department of Justice still haven’t taken action.
That’s disturbing -- and unacceptable.

Attorney General Barr has implied that he doesn’t have the legal authority to take on Big Porn.
It seems like pornography websites are listening to him. That’s why, I assume, Big Porn still refuses to implement age verification tools that would help to keep their content away from children -- just like businesses of other age-restricted products, like alcohol, do now.
The Members of Congress who wrote to Attorney General Barr identified laws on the books that could be used to rein in Big Porn today. Now it’s time for concerned Americans like you and me to speak up and urge the Department of Justice to act.
