Hi folks – I just wanted to wish everyone a happy back-to-school season! I remember how busy this time was as I prepared my two kids for a new school year, so I’ll keep this short.

I strongly believe every child deserves a high-quality education, no matter their income or background. I know that education can open the path to so many opportunities.

That’s why I’ve spent my time in Congress advocating for improvements to Delaware’s public schools – the same schools my kids graduated from – and our public education system throughout the country.

But Republicans are more interested in banning books and threatening LGBTQ+ children than they are in preparing them for the future. Just look at what Trump and former Education Secretary Betsy DeVos did – they promoted school choice and threatened to open schools early during the COVID-19 pandemic by threatening to cut off federal funding.

Our students – and our educators – deserve more: more resources, more investment, and more respect. This back-to-school season, we have a chance to give them more. But if Trump and Vance win, they’ll completely gut the Department of Education through Project 2025.
