Dear friend,
The EPA has turned its back on public health once again.
The agency recently gave the pesticide industry the green light to keep spraying produce with chlorpyrifos, a neurotoxic pesticide that can harm kids’ developing brains.
Meanwhile the European Food Safety Agency has concluded there is no safe level of chlorpyrifos, indicating the EU will ban chlorpyrifos in 2020.
It may be too late to get the EPA to listen to science instead of Big Ag’s propaganda, but EWG will never stop fighting for your health. We’re calling on retailers to do the right thing and stop selling produce sprayed with chlorpyrifos.
Chlorpyrifos can be found on some of kids’ favorite foods, such as peaches. The EPA’s own scientists have stated the levels of chlorpyrifos found on produce and in drinking water are unsafe.
But the EPA has refused to take action. Now it’s time to take our fight to the grocery stores.
We know that consumers can drive market change, because we’ve done it before. But we need a tidal wave of support if we’re going to make our voices heard.
Can we count on you to help us reach 50,000 petition signatures urging grocery stores to say NO to chlorpyrifos?
Thanks for standing with us, friend.
