It's been another busy week in TX-23.

I am proud to serve our district in Congress. Each day, I work to address your concerns and protect our liberties. From helping you navigate federal casework to advocating for your priorities, my team and I are always here to help.

Update: Del Rio International Airport

Del Rio is home to Laughlin Air Force Base and is a major gateway for trade and commerce in the United States.

I’m working with officials at the U.S. Department of Transportation and in Congress to restore air service at the Del Rio International Airport.

I met with Mayor Al Arreola and City Manager Manuel Chavez on Thursday at the Del Rio International Airport. Bringing back air service is a key priority for the region, and we are committed to using every tool we have to get the job done.

The Next Generation of Cyber Experts

I enjoyed meeting with Medina Valley Air Force Junior ROTC cadets on Thursday at Medina Valley High School.

We talked shop about all things cyber, and I am looking forward to seeing these cadets become future leaders in their fields.

Thank you, Coach Fredrick Hall, for inviting me to join your class this week.

Keeping Our Kids Safe Online

On Wednesday, I met with Maurine Molak who lost her son David in 2016 to suicide after he was cyber bullied. In his memory, Maurine co-founded David’s Legacy Foundation to progress online safety initiatives and make sure no parent ever has to go through what she did.

To build upon Maurine's efforts, I am building support in Congress around the Kids Online Safety Act. The last time Congress passed a child internet safety bill was in 1998, and it's past time for new measures to be put in place.

The Kids Online Safety Act will protect our children from malicious, targeted content on the internet and give parents more insight into what their kids are exposed to in today’s digital era.

On Friday, Congressman Gonzales joined KENS 5 in San Antonio to discuss the Kids Online Safety Act. Click here to watch the interview.
