Dear Friend,
Imagine you’re a mother from Venezuela. Thieves break into your home and force you and your family to leave. You only have time to fill a few small bags before making an exhausting six-day journey on foot to the Colombian border.
Maita lived through that nightmare. “It was very hard. We carried two younger kids in a wagon, and the older one was on my husband’s shoulders,” she told us. Your support of Project HOPE can help provide health care, health education, and other relief to people like Maita and her family.
I’m reaching out because our teams need your help to meet urgent health needs in Latin America, the Caribbean, and around the world. For a limited time, our Matching Gift Challenge will turn every $1 you donate into $2, up to $20,000. Please make your best gift today to help people like Maita who are caught up in conflict and crisis.

Today, Maita volunteers with a local aid organization near the Venezuelan border. As a Project HOPE partner, they go door-to-door to reach Venezuelan women and connect them to much-needed resources, care, and community.
Maita has helped hundreds of women, including many expectant moms who hadn’t been receiving prenatal care. “The women feel scared,” she said. “A lot of the girls are young, like 15 or 16. At the beginning, it’s hard to convince them to go. But when they start to see how they can get help, how they can get doctors’ appointments and vitamins, it’s easier.”
People like Maita who dedicate themselves to service and generosity are a reminder that we all have the power to make a meaningful difference in each other’s lives. Please let Maita’s compassion inspire you to make a gift to Project HOPE today.
