Congresswoman Tenney's Weekly Newsletter   Have questions? Contact Me Here   Honoring our Vietnam Veterans Vietnam Veterans often returned home to a divided country and were not always given the recognition they deserved. This week, we hosted a Vietnam Veteran Commemorative Pinning Ceremony to right that wrong and offer a long-overdue acknowledgment and appreciation of their sacrifice. It was a privilege to honor these veterans and present each veteran with a commemorative Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin to symbolize the nation's deep appreciation for their service. JOE BIDEN COMMITTED IMPEACHABLE OFFENSES Since 2023, House Republicans have obtained and reviewed thousands of pages of financial records, text messages, emails, and witness testimony detailing the severe corruption of the President and his family. From the influence-peddling scheme that leveraged Joe Biden's position as Vice President to establish the 'brand' and generate millions of dollars for the Biden family and their business associates to obstructing our impeachment inquiry and the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden, we can confidently conclude that President Biden and his family abused public office for personal financial gain. This week, we House Republicans released 291-page report reveals the incriminating evidence that President Biden abused his office and violated his oath as President and Vice President by engaging in an influence-peddling scheme to enrich his family. We have exposed the truth through this detailed investigation, and on behalf of the American people, we are dedicated to ensuring that President Biden and the Biden Crime Family are held accountable. My Agriculture Plan Agriculture is the cornerstone of our community. NY-24 continues to stand out as a premier agricultural hub in the Northeast, boasting the largest dairy district in New York, and Wayne County is the largest apple-producing county outside of Washington State. Wyoming County also ranks among the top maple syrup producers in the nation, and the Finger Lakes region is renowned for its numerous vineyards, orchards, and specialty crops. These producers drive the economy of Upstate and Western New York, providing jobs to local workers and supplying our grocery stores and schools with nutritious local products. This week, I released my comprehensive agriculture plan, which illustrates a comprehensive approach that promotes pro-farmer agricultural policies and backs programs that keep our food industry thriving. My plan details how I will unlock the potential of our rural communities, counteract hostile foreign interference in our agriculture sector, and provide farmers and producers with the certainty and opportunities they need to thrive. READ MY FULL AGRICULTURE PLAN HERE My Broadband Access Plan Addressing the unique needs of NY-24's robust agriculture community and sprawling rural landscape requires bold action and a comprehensive, innovative solution. In today's world, internet connections shape our access to education, health care, and employment opportunities. I'm committed to supporting policies that increase competition and connectivity. Every New Yorker needs to have access to a robust marketplace of broadband options. In addition, we must lay the groundwork for new technologies, such as 5G, that promise connectivity for a lower cost. To accomplish these objectives, I am supporting a package of bills in Congress that will deliver real results. My plan unleashes private sector innovation to foster competition and bring costs down while providing vital oversight over agencies tasked with carrying out these broadband efforts. I remain dedicated to overcoming bureaucratic red tape to bring fast, reliable, affordable broadband to all corners of NY-24. READ MY FULL BROADBAND ACCESS PLAN HERE As your representative in Congress, my top priority is championing legislative initiatives that benefit you and your families. Each week, I review numerous bills and letters, engaging in thorough discussions with members of our community to determine which actions to support and address your needs. Below are a few bills I recently cosponsored. The American Energy Independence from Russia Act: This bill requires the president to submit an energy security plan to prevent the United States from becoming reliant on Russian energy. The Health Accelerating Consumers’ Care by Expediting Self-Scheduling (ACCESS) Act: This bill aims to modernize health care by providing regulatory certainty for digital platforms that connect patients with providers. This legislation will enable patients to easily search for and book health care appointments online while ensuring the protection of personal health information. The SAFER at the Border Act: This bill would block the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from paroling migrants who are designated as Known and Suspected Terrorists (KST) or Special Interest Aliens (SIA). It should be common sense: if you're an illegal immigrant that is designated as Known and Suspected Terrorists or Special Interest Aliens, you shouldn't be released on parole to roam freely in our country. With 85% of all suspected terrorists who attempt to enter the U.S. illegally doing so through the Northern Border, it's crucial for both our communities’ safety and national security that these individuals are detained once apprehended. Hosting a Manufacturing Roundtable in the Finger Lakes Region As we continue to face record-breaking prices and see more jobs sent overseas to our adversaries, it is clear that we must urgently rebuild and strengthen our manufacturing sector. Thank you to the elected officials Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan and Town of Farmington Supervisor Peter Ingalsbe, as well as representatives from Senator Pam Helming and Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes's offices. Many business owners attended, including Todd Sloan, the Director of Workforce and Career Solutions at FLCC, Ryan McCabe, Associate Vice President of Academic Technology & High Impact Practices at Finger Lakes Community College, and Mike Bechtold, CEO of OptiPro. From the Finger Lakes Extrusion, both Erica Wright, the President of Sales, and Phil Scott, the President of Operations, were present. Additionally, Tracey Dello Stritto, President and CEO of the Ontario County Chamber of Commerce, Linda Crowther, CFO of Elderlee, Incorporated, and Member of the Ontario County Economic Development Team, Jim Armstrong attended the event. I appreciated our insightful discussion on the importance of restoring America's industrial sector and supporting policies that prioritize American businesses and workers. Our country has always been rooted in the hard work and innovation of small businesses, particularly those that create American-made products and offer good-paying jobs to workers in our community. I remain dedicated to working with local elected officials and small business owners in our community to restore our region as a manufacturing powerhouse, ensuring that our local economy thrives and that our workers are positioned for long-term success. Attending the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors Meeting Thank you to Wyoming County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Becky Ryan for inviting me to the Board of Supervisors Meeting at the County Fair! We had a great discussion on ways to continue supporting our farmers, volunteer firefighters, and rural communities. Groundbreaking Ceremony at Graham Manufacturing Congratulations to Graham Corporation on breaking ground on this new manufacturing facility here in Batavia. Graham Corporation's commitment to creating quality and innovative technologies for our military and providing 24 new job opportunities in our community is commendable. I am eager to witness the continued growth and positive impact Graham Corporation will have in our community and around the world.
