John,
In 2016, the swing states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania were decided by a combined 77,744 votes.1,2,3
In 2020, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia were decided by just 42,918 votes.4,5,6
Since then, dozens of states have implemented or stiffened voter ID laws in an attempt to suppress the vote of vulnerable communities and communities of color. That’s why our Vote for Human Needs campaign is working to help voters overcome racist, discriminatory voter ID laws.
Check out Dominique’s email below, which tells you more about how the Coalition on Human Needs is working on multiple fronts to help voters in swing states make their voices heard. Then rush a contribution to power our Vote for Human needs campaign today.

-- DOMINIQUE'S EMAIL --
John,
With just 10 weeks until Election Day and many states starting early voting next month, we’re working to turn out voters who care about meeting human needs. What does that mean?
In addition to providing you with opportunities to write to infrequent voters in swing states, we’re connecting service providers on the ground with the resources to help vulnerable communities register to vote and overcome racist voter ID laws.
This isn’t a theoretical exercise. Since 2020, 18 states have added or stiffened voter ID requirements with 38 states now requiring some form of voter ID in this year’s election.1 According to the Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement, 47% of Black voters aged 18-29 lack a driver’s license with their current name or address while 30% lack a license at all.2 Compare this to just 5% of white voters in the same age range who lack a driver's license.
We’ve laid out all these roadblocks to voting in CHN’s recent edition of Human Needs Watch.3
When you consider that the swing states of Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia, were decided by a combined 42,918 votes in 2020, every vote for human needs is critical in this year’s presidential and congressional elections.4,5,6
We need to make sure voters have what they need to overcome racist voter suppression laws and make their voices heard! Rush a donation to our Vote for Human Needs campaign today.

We’re working with Vote-ER, a group of doctors and nurses who are helping their patients register to vote―providing them with issue-based voter guides ranging from prescription drug and health care affordability to education and Head Start to housing and our care economy.
We’re connecting service providers who are serving people with disabilities and unhoused populations with resources to make sure folks have the voter ID they need to vote over the next 10 weeks.
And we’re providing webinars and trainings to nonprofits in swing states, helping them empower their communities between now and Election Day.
Rush a donation to our Vote for Human Needs campaign today to power our critical voter engagement efforts over the final 10 weeks of the 2024 election.
