This crisis is especially dire for pregnant women and their newborns. Damaged and inoperable hospitals, lack of fuel and health supplies, and dire hygienic conditions heighten risks for maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality.

Even when all seems hopeless, UNFPA has not stopped delivering lifesaving humanitarian aid — including enough medicine and equipment to support more than half of ALL births in Gaza since conflict erupted.
