Hi Supporter,

As the 50th anniversary of Earth Day approached, my fiance and I were looking for creative ways to engage with nature even while doing our part to self-quarantine at home.

We had been toying with the idea of camping indoors and on Saturday, finally decided to make it happen. We cleared our sunniest room and set up our tent near our army of houseplants, opened the windows despite the mid-April chill on the air, and readied our sleeping bags and pillows. It took a little imagination, but we slept soundly and woke up to the sun streaming into the tent just as it would have if we were in a clearing in the woods.

While the idea seemed a little silly at first, it genuinely helped us to feel reconnected to the outdoors again as the evening chill rustled through the trees and the early morning sun made our houseplants glow. We had such a good time and felt so refreshed that we're planning to do it again this weekend, this time with s'mores and a projection of the night sky on the ceiling, our perfect #QuarantineLifeCalm.

All the best,

Lani and Jonathan
