(Mansfield) – State Representative Mark Romanchuk (R-Mansfield) has been declared the winner of the five-way 2020 Republican Primary for Ohio Senate District 22 with 58% of the vote, based on unofficial results overnight. Romanchuk is now the Republican nominee for Ohio’s 22nd Senate District, a seat being vacated by Senator Larry Obhof (R-Medina) due to term-limits later this year. The district includes all of Richland, Medina, and Ashland Counties and portions of Holmes County.

Representative Romanchuk thanked the voters with the following statement:

“Thank you so much to the voters who have made their voices heard. I am truly humbled by the overwhelming support I have received from all four counties in the district during this primary. As a conservative businessman and legislator, my core focus has always been ensuring that we create an environment where businesses and families can thrive and where elected officials are accountable to their constituents. Just as I have done for over seven years as a member of the Ohio House, I look forward to continuing to fight for the conservative principles of lower taxes, less spending, and more jobs. Now that the primary is behind us, I look forward to the November election and ultimately to serving as the next state senator for Ashland, Holmes, Medina, and Richland Counties.”
