Hunger exists everywhere in this country.

We recently released our latest Map the Meal Gap 2024 report. What the report
shows us is clear: Hunger affects our neighbors in every county across America.

There are ways we can help our neighbors facing hunger in each and every one
of our communities: Federal nutrition programs are crucial to closing the meal
gap, helping to reduce food insecurity for millions of hardworking people. But
these programs can’t meet the high demand caused by harmful policies and high
grocery prices that make nutritious food hard to afford.

We must strengthen programs like The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to close the gap for
good. Join us today in urging Congress to pass the strongest possible farm bill
and help end hunger for good!

Food insecurity exists in every corner of the U.S., worsened by high grocery
costs causing budgets to rise and the expiration of pandemic-era policies that
helped reduce hunger.In some counties, nearly half of children are food
insecure, and Black and Latino people experience much higher rates of food
insecurity.*

Federal nutrition programs can’t keep up. Nearly 50% of people facing hunger
are unlikely to qualify for SNAP, the cornerstone of federal nutrition
assistance. And as our neighbors turn to food banks to help put food on the
table, TEFAP needs more funding to make sure produce and other goods make it
from farms to the people facing hunger.

Congress will hear our voice: We must work together to end hunger now. And we
can do this by strengthening the programs that help our neighbors the most.
