As I reflect on the Democratic National Convention, the choice before us couldn’t be more striking. Today marks the anniversary of the day Donald Trump surrendered to Fulton County Jail – the fourth time in 2023 that he turned himself in after federal and state charges were brought against him. This same man was then convicted in New York for 34 separate felonies. Yes, a convicted felon is running to lead our country. Let that sink in for a moment.

Trump has proven time and again that he is running to help his own interests. He’s mocked, belittled, and betrayed the citizens of this country. Even those who once stood by his side are now turning their backs.

In contrast, we have Vice President Kamala Harris, a former prosecutor who has consistently championed the most vulnerable among us. She’s dedicated her career — as a prosecutor, attorney general, senator, and vice president — to fighting for the people. Kamala has always put service to her country first, and that’s the kind of leadership we need.

The difference couldn’t be more glaring, and the direction we need to go couldn’t be more obvious. Now, this isn’t just about Trump. His dangerous, self-serving ideals have spread like a virus, infecting GOP Senate and House candidates across the country who are eager to push his agenda.
