I am writing to you on the heels of the DNC in Chicago.
The convention was abuzz with optimism, with hope, and with energy to uphold our democracy and improve our nation. Spending the week surrounded by people who care so deeply about our country, about future generations, and about doing the right thing was inspiring.
There were countless thoughtful and energizing speeches and events throughout the DNC, but First Lady Michelle Obama's call to "do something" has stuck with me the most.
Delegates from every state have voted to nominate Vice President Kamala Harris for President and affirm her choice of Governor Tim Walz for Vice President: and now, it is our job to do something.
Get Ready to Vote
VOLUNTEER
Will you pitch in today so we can do something to build local momentum for the Harris-Walz ticket and important down-ballot races in Northwest Washington?
It is an honor to represent our district. Our shared values — working hard, caring for each other, and serving the community — guide my work in Congress to serve the people of Northwest Washington.
Our values are on the ballot this election, but we can protect them together. Democrats will:
- Codify Roe v. Wade;
- Expand access to high-quality health care that fits families' budgets;
- Protect the right to vote and defend our democratic institutions, values, and norms; and
- Continue to invest in transportation and infrastructure to create jobs and bolster our economy.
The Harris-Walz campaign has great momentum heading into November — but there is a lot to do between now and Election Day. Let's get to work.
More soon,
Rick
