Save the Children Action Network is the political voice for kids.
John, World Humanitarian Day might be over…
But our fight to save children’s lives is far from it. Right now, so many are suffering beyond belief.
6.7 million kids have been displaced, nearly 19 million have been out of school for more than a year and 16.4 million are facing crisis levels of hunger – and that’s just in Sudan.
Devastation like that is hard to stomach, but we can’t look away. Please, tell Congress to send critical humanitarian aid before it’s too late. [[link removed]]

John,
This World Humanitarian Day, my heart aches for places like Sudan.
16 months of violent conflict have upended health care, education and food systems there – creating the world’s worst child displacement crisis.
Armed men stormed 13-year-old Simon’s* community, separating his family in the frenzy.
Alone and afraid, he fled to the border and waited. His parents never came – but they spent every moment searching for him.
Dedicated aid workers from our sister organization, Save the Children, found Simon’s loved ones three months later. I still think about their tearful reunion.
Tragically, not every story ends like Simon’s. I know this devastation is hard to imagine – but please, don’t look away. This World Humanitarian Day, your voice can make a difference. [[link removed]]
Experts say 16.4 million kids in Sudan are facing catastrophic levels of hunger. In just one month, a Save the Children clinic saw an entire year’s worth of severe acute malnutrition cases among children under five.
Do you know what that does to a child, John?
As their immune systems shut down, kids’ bodies convert muscles into energy. In this weakened state, they’re more vulnerable to hypothermia, low blood sugar and eventually organ failure.
We must remind our leaders that every child deserves support – no matter where they live. [[link removed]]
Thanks for standing with kids on World Humanitarian Day.
