Dear MoveOn member,
The Democratic National Convention is over, and now we have to do something not attempted in modern politics before:
Introduce Vice President Kamala Harris to the public and convince them to vote for her in just 70 days.
Don't forget, John, the 2020 presidential election kicked off nearly two years before Election Day, giving us plenty of time to get to know the candidates and solidify Joe Biden as our choice. Now, the Democratic Party has just 11 weeks to do that work for Vice President Harris.
The plain truth is they can't do it alone—there are just too many people to reach with too much information in too short a time. The party will be focused on telling Vice President Harris's story and making the case for why she is the best candidate to lead the nation forward.
Meanwhile, MoveOn will be playing a critical role—reaching out to 1.5 million surge voters in critical swing states, leaning into our proven election program to talk about the issues that we know matter most to them. This election is going to come down to who works harder, and no one works harder than MoveOn. We need you with us in this all-important moment.
We are totally fired up after Vice President Harris's powerful speech on Thursday night. Whether it was hearing her so plainly lay out how she will fight for us and our rights or how she has taken on bullies like Donald Trump before and won, we are full of optimism for America's future.
This election is far from over, however.
The race is basically deadlocked.1 And Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dropped out of the race yesterday, throwing his support behind Trump.2 Even the small percentages of voters he was drawing are enough to swing many of the battleground states.
And then there are the voters in swing states who still don't believe Trump would sign a national abortion ban, despite what he has told supporters and what is written in his own playbook, Project 2025.3
More worrisome, Trump still leads Vice President Harris in who voters think will better handle the economy, the top issue for many voters after abortion.4
The Democratic Party will continue to tell the public about Vice President Harris, her incredible story, and her record.
But when it comes to issues like abortion and the economy, we know from extensive research that voters don't want to hear from the party—they want to hear from their trusted friends and family.
MoveOn has pioneered a way to make that happen: vote tripling. Vote tripling is based on relational organizing—the idea that people are much more likely to listen to their friends and social networks than to anonymous outreach efforts. Relational organizing has been proven to be the absolute best way, by orders of magnitude, to not only inform people but turn them into likely voters who will show up on Election Day.5
MoveOn has taken relational organizing and super-powered it by providing an easy way to reach out to friends and family, talk to them about the issues they care about the most, and help them make a plan to get to the polls. Not only did MoveOn's vote tripling result in 50,000 unlikely voters casting a ballot in 2020 in key states and districts, it's been proven to be as much as five times more effective than other methods. (In other words, if you give $9 to us, it's worth five times more!)
So here's the plan: Our analytics team has identified 1.5 million surge voters in battleground states and districts who might not go to the polls. We've been reaching out to these voters through postcards from volunteers, targeted ads, on the phone, at the door, and more, about Trump's fascist plans, Project 2025, and the hope and promise of a better future with Harris as president. Soon, we will kick off vote tripling and get them to the polls!
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn? The MAGA right is declaring war, and Project 2025 is their battle plan. Project 2025 threatens our rights, attacks communities of color, hurts middle- and working-class families, and undermines our democracy. But we will not back down or let Trump steamroll our nation.
Will you donate to power MoveOn's election plan, stop Trump, and ensure Project 2025 is never enacted?
