MEETING LOCAL FARMERS AND AG LEADERS
That afternoon, Gov. Hogan and the team had a great time in Caroline County with local farmers and ag leaders who joined us for a grassroots event at Bartenfelder Farms.
Gov. Hogan: “Far too often, our farmers don’t get the appreciation they deserve—and with Congress struggling to pass a Farm Bill that’s far past due, Maryland farmers need someone who will fight for them in Washington. Making sure the voice of Maryland ag is heard loud and clear will be one of my top priorities in the U.S. Senate.
Thank you to everyone who joined us this afternoon, and to the Bartenfelder family for welcoming us to their beautiful farm in Preston!

SUMMERFEST

PROTECTING THE CHESAPEAKE BAY
The same day, Gov. Hogan headed over the bridge to Tilghman Island in Talbot County to meet with local watermen and discuss their innovative and ongoing efforts to clean the Chesapeake Bay.

Next, Gov. Hogan walked over to the Wittman Wharf Catfish Operation for a tour of their facility and to see the great work they’re doing to restore the Chesapeake and protect local species.
The Wittman Wharf Catfish Operation processes over 20,000 pounds of wild caught catfish a week in order to remove this invasive species from Maryland waters while also enabling watermen to diversify their income streams.

That afternoon, Gov. Hogan stopped by the Tilghman Watermen’s Museum to learn more about the ways different generations of watermen have overcome and adapted to changes in their industry, and the challenges they face ahead.
In 2022, the Hogan administration gave Hall and Mary Kellogg, the founders of the Tilghman Watermen’s Museum, a Governor's Citation Award for Lifetime Achievement for preserving the legacy and history of watermen.
Gov. Hogan: “Tilghman Island has such a unique and vibrant history that dates back over three centuries. Preserving this history is critical to ensuring the future of Tilghman Island is brighter than ever. Thank you to President Chuck Powers and Linda for showing us around!”

Gov. Hogan then concluded his day in Talbot County by grabbing lunch at Headwaters Seafood in Easton with watermen and representatives from the Maryland Charter Boat Association and Charter Captains Course, the oldest school of its kind in the country.

On Tuesday night, Gov. Hogan was joined by thousands of Marylanders from across the state for a Teletown Hall.
Gov. Hogan: “We spoke with residents one on one about a wide range of topics, including border security, crime in cities and suburbs across our state, the increase in carjackings, school safety, getting guns out of the hands of criminals, and keeping violent offenders off the streets—and I shared my comprehensive, common sense 10-point crime plan.”

A Personal Message from Governor Larry Hogan:
[link removed]
Hi, it’s Governor Larry Hogan.
When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.
Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.
Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.
I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.
It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.
[link removed]
So if you can chip in a donation of $25 or more, it will go a long way in helping me continue building a strong campaign.
For eight years, we proved that the toxic politics that divide our nation didn’t need to divide our state, and we got results! Let’s get back to work again and send a message to Washington that will be heard loud and clear across the country!
[link removed]
Will you join me today and help end the dysfunction in Washington?
Thank you,
Larry Hogan
